Bentwood swings by Peter Fortune (Grad 2014 SALA) and the UBC School of Architecture and Landscape Architecture(SALA)

Walking along the UBC campus Main Mall, you cannot miss one of three steam bent white oak swing installations, an idea created by SALA’s director, Leslie Van Duzer, to promote a fun public space on campus.

The swings can be found here:

1)      Steps from the Owl Daycare on Main Mall (formerly - Barn Coffee Shop)

2)      Near the intersection of Main Mall and Agricultural Rd

3)      By the Millennium Pavilion near the roundabout at Main Mall and Memorial Rd

Here’s Peter Fortune doing his regular maintenance work on the swings.  For more information on the swings you can email Peter at peterfortune23@gmail.com.

For September 2014, a total of 19 units of strata homes, i.e. condos and townhouses, were sold in UBC.  This is a decrease from the 36 units that sold in August 2014.  23 units were sold in September 2013, which is the highest number of homes sold for September since 2011.

Of the 19 units that sold last month, 2 were 1-bedroom homes, 12 were 2-bedroom homes, and 5 units were 3-or-more bedroom homes.

For a free private consultation to sell your home, please call me, Len Diaz, at 604-551-1323.

Sold units does not include single detached homes, pre-sale, under construction, and private (FSBO) sales.  All figures are taken from MLS.
